2021 Videos and Recommendation

Recommendation Letter:
This fall, I asked my assistant coach for high school softball, Adam Sterup, to write a letter of recommendation for me for a softball-related scholarship.  After he finished with it, I asked him if I could include it here on my webpage.

 

To whom it may concern:

 

I am writing to recommend Sydney Barner for your scholarship award. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Sydney over the past 5 years as one of her softball coaches.  She immediately distinguished herself as a young woman with great character and a positive attitude.  She has been an excellent player and teammate for her high school softball team and has represented her community incredibly well.  I strongly recommend Sydney for this scholarship.

 

During her time as a NPHS softball player, Sydney has been a model player and teammate.  She is extremely coachable and is constantly trying to find ways to improve.  She has always shown the utmost respect to her teammates, coaches, and umpires.  She is an extremely unselfish teammate and shows great excitement for the success of others around her. She is perhaps the hardest working player I have ever coached and I have no doubt her determination will allow her to continue to succeed in whatever she pursues in the future, including on the softball field.  She has shown great leadership for our softball team and was instrumental in our finishing as state runner-up during her junior season.  She has been a great role model for younger players to look up to and learn how to represent their community.  

 

Along with being a great teammate, Sydney will end her high school career as one of the most successful players ever to come through our program.  She now holds the majority of the offensive records in our program including most homeruns (season and career), most hits (season and career), most runs scored (season and career), and the highest career batting average. She also holds the record for most stolen bases in a career.  These accolades are possible because of her work ethic and desire to be the best player that she can be.  You will not find a more dedicated player.  

 

Sydney was a great player in our program and is a great candidate for this scholarship due to her very high character.  I highly recommend Sydney for your scholarship because I know she will do everything she can to find success at the next level.  I know you will not find another player that works harder or has more passion for the game of softball than Sydney.
